I know it's over

Jeff Buckley, foi uma das maiores promessas musicais dos anos 90. Aclamado pelo seu album de estreia, Grace (1994), e considerado pela crítica o artista mais promissor da sua geração. A arte de Buckley continua ainda hoje a ser verdadeiramente eplendorosa. Buckley consegue arrepiar com o seu tom de voz assombroso e transmitir um sem número de sensações com as suas músicas.

Como se isso não bastasse era também um artista versátil pois o seu registo músical oscilava amplamente desde rock clássico (estilo Led Zepelin) a Édith Piaf.

A sua música mais conhecida será Hallelujah, adaptada da original de Leonard Cohen. Essa é também uma música que aconselho vivamente mas optei por não trazer essa (precisamente por ser a mais conhecida) e tentar dar a conhecer um pouco mais deste que foi e será sempre um grande senhor.

Sem dúvida um dos grandes diamantes em bruto do mundo da música que jamais será lapidado e trazido ao seu esplendor máximo.

I know it's Over, originalmente interpretada pelos The Smiths mas que é (na minha opinião) muito mais poderosa nas "mãos" de Buckley. A versão que conheço é ao vivo, mas isso seria quase impercéptivel não fosse a ovação do público no início e no fim da música (mas só após ele agradecer e dar por finalizada a música) , tal foi o respeito e o sentimento que esta música transmitiu.

Esta música que, olhando para a letra, parece desorganizada e "feia" devido à sua estrutura métrica e estrófica inconstante (a divisão fi-la eu próprio pois é dificil separar alguns versos nesta música) é na realidade uma obra poderosíssima que, aliada à voz etérea de Jeff Buckley me causa arrepios sempre que a ouço com atenção (até porque me consigo identificar com ela nalgumas partes).

Não é aconselhável a audição durante fases de ligeira (ou profunda) depressão correndo o risco de nos fazer sentir ainda mais "miseráveis" (talvez por nessas alturas mais frágeis nos conseguirmos identificar com o sujeito da canção).
Mas que sabe bem ouvi-la, lá isso sabe!
